What is Online Safety?

Simply

keeping safe when online and using technology.

 

There are three main areas of risk

 

Content

Contact

Conduct

Children being exposed to harmful, illegal or inappropriate material.

Children being subjected to harmful online interaction with others.

How children behave and interact themselves.

Examples such as pornography, indecent images, ignoring age ratings on games, films. The list could go on.....

Examples such as grooming(an adult pretending to be a child), any form of cyber-bullying online through social media sites, email. Identity theft. The list could go on.....

Keeping their own information secure, being responsible for their own health and well-being(not spending excessive time online or gaming), considering their own digital footprint and online reputation.The list could go on.....

 

At Willow Grove we aim to educate our children and empower them to ensure they stay safe and behave appropriately when online and would like to do the dame for the Parents and Careers.
