Elm

Welcome to Elm Class. We are in Orchards department and the class staff are Mr Charnley, Mrs Faulkner and Miss Baratinsky

Elm class had a visit from an engineer who showed us how to make robotics. The boys each used different parts to make a moving car.

We had a visit from a local beekeeper, the boys enjoyed looking at the bees and learning some interesting facts about bees. Some children even tried on the beekeeper outfit.

For our Maths work in Summer 2, Jack and Jaxson have been working on making patterns.

In Art we have been looking at Georgia O’Keefe and her work on landscapes. The class then used oils pastels and coloured pencils to create their own landscape pictures.

In Science the boys have been looking at evolution and inheritance. They have enjoyed looking at fossils and made their own today.

In Spring 1, the boys used lots of different materials to plan and make their own football stadium in DT.

For our Spring 2 PSHE we are looking a mindfulness, the boys enjoyed relaxing and listening to the music.

Jack and Alfie played a game of darts together.

For our Spring 1 Spanish we are looking at Spanish foods. We worked together to make Paella.

For our Spring 1 RE, we are looking at Judaism. The boys looked at different artefacts and researched what they were used for

For our Spring 1 maths, Sam, Thomas and Alfie worked on directions. They had to make full turn, half turn, and quarter turn in clockwise and anti clockwise directions.

Father Christmas came to visit us.

For our Autumn 2 topic work the boys made silhouette paintings of The Blitz.

Our focus in PE in Autumn 2 was balancing.

Our topic for Autumn 1 is The Romans, the boys worked together to make a Roman house, everyone made a different room and then we put them together.

Our focus in Autumn 1 for PSHE is team work. We worked in pairs to create Lego models
