Indian stick insect eggs

Ash class have acquired 10 Indian stick insect eggs.  One of our learners has been learning lots of facts about these amazing little creatures and so we want to hatch our own generation to add to the Willow Grove stick insect family.

They come from the Shambaganur region of Southern India.  Stick insect eggs are round and brown with a yellow nodule.  They look like tiny seeds.  One female can lay several hundred eggs during an average life of around a year.

Our eggs will hatch between 5th February to 5th April 2024 and we are all very excited to see how many hatch.

To begin with, we need to handle the eggs very carefully.  Eggs needs to be placed on slightly wet tissue and kept at room temperature.

Keep watching to see how they develop....
