Please keep checking back in to see our fantastic learning!

Beech class reading challenge

This week Beech class challenged themselves to read as many story books as we could! We read them alone, shared with staff and read them as a class. We got through 13 stories!

Experiments with refraction!  30/1/25

Today we learned about how light can refract and completed some experiments that showed refraction in action. We learned about how light travels and how it travels through transparent materials. Check out us being super scientists!🧪

Chinese New Year 29/1/25

Today in Beech class we have celebrated and learned about the Lunar New Year and the year of the snake.

We learned about the geography of China, the origin story of the zodiac, created some sillouhette artwork and tasted loads of delicious food!

Mirrors and light - 14/1/25

Today in Science we investigated some equipment we would use in our topic this term. The concave mirrors made us laugh as it flipped our image upside down!

Theraplay fun! - December 2025

Fun in the snow! - 18/11/24 ☃️

We have had a really busy morning in Beech class! We worked as a team to build a huge snowman, made snow angels and chase each other. We listened to the noises the snow made and spoke about seasonal changes and what we observed as we enter winter.

(We’re not sure who had more fun…the staff or the children!)

Autumn 2 - IT - Chickbots and coding

This term we have been lucky enough to be joined by Nick McCloud, who has taught us to build our own robots and programme them ourselves!

Autumn 2 - Time

This term we have looked at time in our Math lessons. We can read o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to on an analogue clock.

Autumn 2 - P.E - Dodgeball

Autumn 1 - Cooking

As part of PSHE we have been looking at life skills. Every Friday we cook a meal!
Here we are practising our skills making lots of different dishes. So far we have, made Thai Green Curry, Sausage and Mash, Chicken Fajitas, Spaghetti Bolognese and a roast dinner with pigs in blankets!

Autumn 1 - Science- Animals and their habitats

This term in science we have learned all about animals and their habitats. We looked at micro habitats in the school grounds and did an investigation into woodlice. Here we are exploring some of the areas at school and looking at some of the animals that live there!

Autumn 1 - Topic - The Bronze Age to Iron Age.

This term we have been learning all about the Bronze Age.

We created art work, built sculptures of Stonehenge, created Bronze age weapons and jewellery and learned about roundhouses, mining and culture.
