Willow Grove Primary School Admissions Procedure

Thank you for your interest in admitting your child to Willow Grove. We are a vibrant, inclusive, specialist provision based in Ashton, Wigan.

Willow Grove Primary School is Wigan Local Authority specialist provision for children whose primary area of need is Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). Some of our pupils also have other special educational needs such as complex learning difficulties, speech, language and communication difficulties, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Attachment and Trauma related difficulties, Autism or genetic conditions which impact on their lives. All of our children have an EHCP (Education Health and Care Plan). The Local Authority has a comprehensive admission policy and advice is available to all parents via the following link:

Please contact the Local Authority to enquire about the admission and appeal procedures.

In order to support a smooth transition to our setting it may take some time for a new pupil to transfer to Willow Grove. The period of time depends on the needs of the child and we will work closely with all agencies that are involved with a child and their family to ensure that transition is carefully planned and well supported.

Our school's published admissions number (PAN) is 72 pupils.

As of January 2025, Willow Grove is at full capacity.

If you are interested in your child joining our setting for the academic year 2025/2026, please contact the Local Authority SEND Team so that you can arrange to visit our school.
