At Willow Grove we want to engage, inspire and challenge our children, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to be creative, experiment and compose their own music. As our children progress through school they will be able to develop their critical thinking skills and their understanding and experience of music.

Our Music curriculum follows the Sing Up! scheme of work, providing children with a creative, engaging and progressive musical education from Year 1 through to Year 6. Pupils develop their musicianship through singing, playing instruments, composing, improvising, listening and appraising, while exploring a broad range of musical styles, traditions and cultures. The curriculum builds skills and musical vocabulary progressively, giving every child opportunities to perform, create and develop their confidence as a musician.

Be Kind: We listen to and respect each other’s musical ideas, performances and contributions, celebrating everyone's unique talents.

Be Positive: We have the confidence to sing, play, create and perform, embracing mistakes as part of becoming a better musician.
