At Willow Grove School we want to inspire our children to develop a curiosity and fascination about our world, it’s people in it, and give them knowledge about the diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments found within it.  Alongside this we will develop the children’s interest and understanding of the Earth’s physical and human processes.  

Our Geography curriculum follows the Grammarsaurus Geography Curriculum, which is carefully sequenced to develop pupils’ geographical knowledge, vocabulary and skills as they progress through primary school. Children learn about locational knowledge, places, human and physical geography, map work and fieldwork, developing an understanding of how people and environments are connected and how they change over time. Through exploring their local area and studying places and environments around the world, pupils develop curiosity about the world, an appreciation of different cultures and communities, and an understanding of our responsibility to care for and sustain our planet. The curriculum also provides opportunities for children to collect and interpret data, use maps and geographical sources, and undertake practical fieldwork.
