Our offer

Our Pastoral Lead is Mrs S.Latham, one of the schools' designated safeguarding officers (DSL). Mrs Latham has a wealth of knowledge and experience supporting children and families in our school community.

Our pastoral offer supports parents and carers in a variety of ways, including:

• Safeguarding - Working with Wigan Social Care to support families at various levels.
• Leading on, and participating in Early Help support. 
• Home visits to support with attendance, safeguarding and transition for new pupils. 
• Completing the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) two-page form, within the larger application. Due to time constraints, the larger form cannot be completed by school staff. 
• Pupil voice activities, to ensure that the child is heard, as part of safeguarding procedures, Early Help or Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
• Supporting children in receiving their medication at school.
• Leading staff in the safe and appropriate administration of medication in school.
• Organising and delivering termly community fundraising events.
• Planning and delivering half termly parent and carer workshops.

Mrs Latham is in the process of setting up a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) called Willow Roots. There will be more information regarding this shared on DoJo in September/October.
