  • Trauma and Attachment Informed Approach

Wilow Grove use a trauma informed and an attachment aware approach to meet the needs of our learners. We recognise that every child’s journey is unique. Some pupils may have experienced adversity or disrupted relationships that can impact how they feel, behave, and learn. Our approach is built on understanding these experiences and responding with empathy, consistency, and care.

We place relationships at the heart of everything we do. By creating a safe, nurturing environment and building trusted connections, we help children feel secure and ready to engage with learning. Our staff are trained to recognise the signs of trauma and attachment difficulties, and to respond in ways that support emotional regulation, resilience, and self-esteem.

Our core values – Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Positive – underpin every aspect of school life. They guide how we interact with each other, how we respond to challenges, and how we celebrate progress, no matter how small.

Through a carefully designed curriculum, personalised support, and a strong focus on wellbeing, we aim to help every child grow in confidence, develop healthy relationships, and reach their full potential. Our trauma-aware approach ensures that no child is left behind because of past experiences — instead, they are met with understanding, patience, and belief in their ability to succeed.
