At Willow Grove School we want to inspire our children to develop a curiosity and fascination about our world, it’s people in it, and give them knowledge about the diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments found within it. Alongside this we will develop the children’s interest and understanding of the Earth’s physical and human processes.
As our children’s knowledge and skills grow, their knowledge of the world will help them to understand the interaction between the physical and human processes and the formation and use of landscapes and environments.
We want our children to gain confidence and practical experiences of geographical knowledge, understanding and skills.
To provide an engaging and creative curriculum which is broad, balanced and progressive.
To provide our children with the knowledge and vocabulary needed to be confident geographers.
To gain fieldwork skills needed to understand the human and physical geography of the world.
To understand the complex ways in which communities and societies are linked and to appreciate the diversity of people’s backgrounds.
