About the Role

This split-shift permanent role represents an excellent opportunity to become part of our site team. You will carry out general repairs, maintenance and refurbishment projects of the school building not requiring specialist contractors. You will support the School Business Manager and Headteacher to ensure premises is maintained and compliant with UK Health and Safety Regulations.

Key tasks include:

  • Maintaining the security of the school premises and contents.
  • Signing and escorting contractors and assist in fault diagnostics as required.
  • Designated keyholder (may be required to be first responder at times)
  • Receiving deliveries and moving furniture.
  • Undertaking routine maintenance, repairs and refurbishment projects not requiring a specialist contractor.
  • Undertake regular inspections and record keeping.
  • Assist with site H&S inspections and fire evacuations.
  • Flexible approach to respond to radio call-outs for unscheduled maintenance and porter support.
  • Maintenance and upkeep of the school’s minibus
  • Cleaning and general maintenance of the premises

Split Shifts – 6am-9am, 2.30pm-6pm Monday to Friday. Working full year. Full time employees can take up to 1 week of their annual leave entitlement in term-time.

You will be expected to work outside of scheduled hours for events such as Parent’s Evenings, Governor meetings, fundraising events etc. Flexibility of shifts during these times will be negotiated.

This position is subject to Enhanced Disclosure Procedures plus child and adult barred list check
